Testing the limits of multiplex respiratory virus assays for SARS-CoV-2 at high cycle threshold values: Comparative performance of cobas 6800/8800 SARS-CoV-2 & Influenza A/B, Xpert Xpress SARS-CoV-2/Flu/RSV, and cobas Liat SARS-CoV-2 & Influenz...
Description
CONCLUSIONS: Commercial multiplex respiratory virus assays have good performance for samples with medium to high viral loads (Ct values <33). Laboratories should consider appropriate test result review and confirmation protocols to optimize sensitivity, and may consider reporting samples with additional interpretive comments when low viral loads are detected.
The Risk of Herpes Zoster Events in Patients with Spondyloarthritis and the Effect of BNT162b2 mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine
Description
The data on the risk of herpes zoster (HZ) in spondyloarthropathy (SpA) patients are sparse, especially regarding its association with the novel mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and immunosuppressants. We aimed to evaluate whether SpA diagnosis and/or
The Intersection of Childcare and Health Among Women at a U.S. Safety-Net Health System During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Qualitative Study
Description
CONCLUSIONS: Findings demonstrate how low-income women with young children in a safety-net health system struggle to address their own health needs amid childcare and other household demands. Our study advances our understanding of childcare as a
The Soluble Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor as a Severity Biomarker in Children With Acute COVID-19 or Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome
Description
CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggest that suPAR may be a valuable biomarker of disease severity in children with COVID-19 or MIS-C. This could facilitate the identification of children in need of intensive anti-inflammatory treatment, as it has been
The publicly-accessible RNA barcode segments based on the genetic tests of complete genome sequences for SARS-CoV-2 identification from HCoVs and SARSr-CoV-2 lineages
Description
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the pathogen responsible for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), continues to evolve, giving rise to more variants and global reinfections. Previous research has demonstrated that barcode
The Immunogenicity of CpG, MF59-like, and Alum Adjuvant Delta Strain Inactivated SARS-CoV-2 Vaccines in Mice
Description
The continuous evolution and mutation of SARS-CoV-2 have highlighted the need for more effective vaccines. In this study, CpG, MF59-like, and Alum adjuvant Delta strain inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccines were prepared, and the immunogenicity of these
